Patient Service Representative (PSR)

Full-time - onsite position Torrington, CT Established in 1970, Orthopedic Associates of Hartford, P.C. is one of the area's largest and most respected orthopedic specialty groups. Position Overview In support of high-quality patient care, we are currently seeking an experienced dedicated and customer-focused Patient Services Representative (PSR). The Patient Services Representative will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service and support to our patients. The PSR portrays excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and a passion for helping others. Our ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, able to demonstrate a mature, dependable, and responsible approach while effectively assisting the physician's practice in all interactions, be a highly committed team player, a proactive self-starter, reliable, and able to be flexible in a changing environment. Responsibilities Check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information Schedule appointments Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries or concerns Verify insurance coverage Collect patient payments and provide receipts Collaborate with care teams to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations Triages calls, working closely with physician and/or assigned staff member in responding to all calls in a timely fashion. Develop great patient relationships and high-quality patient experience Support all relevant EHR work queue patient care support responsibilities. Register new patients and update existing records with accurate demographic, insurance, and medical information. Travel between our various sites upon request. PM22
Requirements:
Required Qualifications & Skills Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality Experience working as a medical receptionist or in a medical office environment is a plus Previous customer service or administrative experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, Epic experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and medical staff. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
