UPMC Keyword Location Search view all jobs Emergency Department Patient Access Representative Pittsburgh, PA Posted yesterday Apply Now UPMC is seeking full‑time Mobile Patient Access Representatives to support patient registration across multiple Emergency Departments throughout Allegheny County and Cranberry. In this traveling role, you'll rotate between various UPMC Emergency Department locations, providing front‑desk and bedside registration support. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for those looking to start or grow a career in healthcare, with full training provided.
What You'll Do:
As a Patient Access Representative, you'll be one of the first UPMC team members patients and families meet when they arrive in the Emergency Department.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Gathering and updating demographic and insurance information. Verifying insurance eligibility. Collecting and documenting patient payments (co‑pays, co‑insurance, deductibles). Securing required signatures for consent to treat, financial responsibility, and other necessary forms. This role is essential to ensuring patients receive timely, accurate, and compassionate support during what can be a stressful moment.
Work Schedule & Locations:
You will travel to various UPMC Emergency Departments across Allegheny County and Cranberry. Shifts vary and may include daylight, evening, and overnight hours. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Some flexibility in scheduling and locations may be considered individually. After six months of floating to multiple hospitals, you may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent assignment at a single Emergency Department.
Training:
You'll receive a structured onboarding experience, including a four‑day Medipac training program followed by hands‑on shadowing to build confidence and familiarity with the role. Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
