Behind every successful orthopedic procedure is a dedicated Insurance Services Specialist ensuring patients have the coverage and authorizations needed for timely care. If you have experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, or healthcare administration , this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working with a collaborative orthopedic team. As the first point of contact for insurance-related services, you'll verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and help patients navigate the financial side of their careensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. What You'll Do Verify insurance eligibility and benefits Obtain prior authorizations for orthopedic procedures and services Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies by phone Utilize Epic EMR and multiple insurance portals to complete accurate documentation Manage high-volume work queues while maintaining exceptional attention to detail Help secure timely reimbursement and support outstanding patient care Minimum Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Clerical/administrative experience in a healthcare setting required Healthcare insurance verification and customer service experience required Epic EMR experience preferred Skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong computer and technology proficiency Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, authorizations, and medical billing is preferred Why Lee Health? As the first point of access for Lee Health patients, this position completes and assists with Insurance Verification, authorizations, and financial screening to secure maximum reimbursement for the Lee Health System. It also requires excellent verbal, analytical and customer service skills due to the varying methods of continuous communication that occurs telephonically. Requires extensive computer knowledge and analytical experience to navigate and interpret the information provided by a multitude of entities. Requires prioritization, detail orientation, organized, flexible while working within high volume work queues. This job requires the ability to understand medical terminology pertinent to obtaining the authorizations needed for services.
Requirements Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
