Our mission is simple:
provide exceptional patient care while fostering a supportive, professional, and enjoyable work environment for our team. We are currently seeking a compassionate, energetic, and bilingual (English/Spanish) Referral Coordinator to join our Miami office. No prior referral coordinator experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate for a long-term career in Orthotics & Prosthetics. Position Summary As a Referral Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive timely orthotic and prosthetic care. You will work closely with physicians' offices, patients, insurance companies, and our clinical staff to coordinate referrals, verify insurance benefits, and facilitate the patient intake process. Responsibilities Communicate with physician offices regarding referrals and required documentation. Interview patients to obtain medical history and insurance information. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits with third-party payers. Enter patient demographics and insurance information into office management software. Scan and upload referral paperwork and medical records into patient charts. Answer and direct incoming phone calls. Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up visits. Assist with general front office and administrative duties. Maintain accurate and organized patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
Skills / Qualifications
Experience is not required. Fluent in both English and Spanish. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous healthcare, medical office, or customer service experience is helpful but not necessary. Familiarity with HCPCS and ICD-10 codes is a plus. Ability to learn medical office software systems. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check. Physical Demands Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit, stand, bend, and walk throughout the workday. Ability to organize and move patient files, office supplies, and medical records as needed.
