Job Description

POSITION
Call Center Representative
DEPARTMENT
Call Center
JOB SUMMARY
Provide excellent customer service while scheduling new and existing patient appointments as well as providing information to patients, in a call center environment.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
1. One year of experience in customer service/call center required. Medical background preferred, but not necessary. 2. Excellent computer-based skills are required. 3. Excellent verbal communication skills. 4.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling and typing, including clinical information. 5.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. 6.
  • Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, non- physician support staff, co-workers and patients. 7.
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with patients and family members. 8.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, per corporate policies. 9.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications. 10.
  • Must be able to work independently.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Answer and screen incoming telephone calls properly, professionally and efficiently. 2. Handle callers in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner, forwarding callers, taking messages and providing information as necessary. 3. Schedule appointments for new and existing patients. 4. Collect new patient intake information, including reason for visit and insurance. 5. Retrieve and respond to voicemail messages left in the Patient Contact Center voice mailboxes. 6. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner. 7. Perform any other related work as requested.
