Job Number 2026-58 Department Dougherty County Voter Registration and Elections Opening Date 05/12/2026 Closing Date 5/26/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Description The Dougherty County Voter Registration and Elections Department is hiring for a Voter Registration Specialist. The purpose of this position is for data entry involving voter registration and list maintenance activities. Responsible for answering inquiries from the public and activities affiliated with conducting elections and assisting with poll worker recruitment, training, manual creation and coordinating supplies necessary for conducting an election. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Essential Tasks Performs data entry functions; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections. Answers telephone calls and greets visitors; directs callers/visitors to appropriate office staff, records/relays messages. Under supervision of Supervisor of Elections administers all federal, state, county, municipal and special district elections in Albany/Dougherty County in accordance with the Georgia election code. Perform periodic list maintenance to ensure accurate and current voter registration records. Setup advance voting locations; post required signage, set up and secure voting equipment. Coordinates and distributes early voting materials. Creates and manages all forms/documents associated with early voting. Verifies and certifies Independent candidate petitions. Assists with absentee ballot requests, addresses updates and corrections. Performs related work as assigned. Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Four (4) years of relative administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.APPLICANTS MUST PASS A 45 WPM TYPING TEST BEFORE APPLICATION DEADLINE
