JOB SUMMARY
Responsibilities include ensuring all phone calls received in switchboard are answered in a timely manner. All phone calls are recorded, faxes received and recorded proper and timely. To review all information given by either the patient or the physician's office is accurately recorded. Must work with Diagnostic areas to ensure work flow is correct. Under the direct supervision of the Scheduling and Pre Services Supervisor, the patients are contacted to obtain necessary identifying, demographic and financial information. Seeks to help patients understand their financial responsibilities, giving the estimated out-of-pocket responsibilities and payment options; at all times providing first-class service to set the tone for the patient's journey of care as well as educate and manage the financial expectations for the patient prior to admission. Initiates the pre-registration in Cerner. Provides information to the patient regarding when and where to report to Hamilton Medical Center. Contacts physician offices for pre authorization information. Contacts payers to obtain pre authorization as needed. Participate in coordinating care with management and patient interdisciplinary team. Document special consideration with physician for test. Receive phone order from physician.JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Graduate of an approved program for Licensed Practical Nurse required.EXPERIENCE
Health care experience required. Preferred 2-5 years onsite clinic, corporate health or wellness setting. Marketing, Sales, Management and/or Customer Service experience preferred.JOB SKILLS
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedural coding (CPT/ICD9) and reimbursement. Must possess excellent customer service skills; good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment, be detail oriented, and demonstrate competence in basic math concepts. Must have working knowledge of medical A/R software programs and PC skills, be able to make decisions and perform with minimal supervision, and work with outside customers to maintain existing business and develop new business.
