Job Description

Overview:
Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for a Preadmission Testing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at our Piedmont Augusta. Our preadmission testing position work Monday through Friday 08:00 - 16:30/ 09:30-18:00 schedule offering a consistent and flexible lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will: Perform Pre-Anesthesia Screening assessments to determine if a patient is optimized for planned anesthetic. Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries. Assigns ASA Physical Status Score. Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patient's medical record to include airway assessments, Mallampati score, heart and lung sounds. Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care. Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings. Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications. Collaborate with Anesthesiologists to develop a strong working knowledge of Pre- Anesthesia testing Protocols and guidelines.
