Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our compassionate team. In this vital role, you will support daily administrative operations within our clinic, ensuring seamless patient flow, accurate documentation, and efficient communication. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for families and contribute to delivering exceptional care. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly while managing front desk responsibilities with professionalism and courtesy Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process insurance claims using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Schedule patient appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and multi-line phone systems Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Dentrix with precise documentation review and data entry Collect payments and perform medical collections while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality Assist with medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims submission Support medical administrative tasks such as filing medical records, managing office supplies, and coordinating care plans Qualifications Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software Strong patient service orientation with outstanding phone etiquette and communication skills Ability to handle multi-tasking efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Prior clinic or dental office experience highly desirable Join us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with autism through your organizational expertise and compassionate support.
