Tri-Med Family Care is a fast-growing healthcare provider focused on delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our patients. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team and help make a positive impact on our patients' health and wellbeing.
Position Overview:
The Patient Access Specialist is the first point of contact for our patients, managing registration, scheduling, and insurance verification. This role ensures accurate records, supports clinic operations, and delivers a positive patient experience through strong customer service and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and register patients; collect and verify demographic and insurance information Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments Obtain insurance authorizations and verify eligibility/benefits Collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances Maintain accurate patient records in the system Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff Resolve basic patient inquiries and direct issues appropriately
Qualifications:
Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality; able to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards. Must have the ability to exercise a high degree of diplomacy and tact; excellent customer services and interpersonal communication skills; Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse people groups. Intermediate to advanced phone skills; able to effectively relate via the telephone and in-person to serve the needs of Clinic patients/clients/visitors in a manner that is efficient and productive. Must be highly flexible; able to accommodate changing needs of the department. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Additional language abilities are desirable. Knowledge of basic math and modern office procedures. Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision. Proven flexibility and willingness to manage a variety of tasks. Willingness to work evenings or outside events as needed. Basic to intermediate computer knowledge and skills.
