Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an energetic, friendly and efficient Patient Registration Specialist to join our award winning drive-thru urgent care team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in setting the tone for their experience from the moment that they pull up. This is a full-time position where significant portions of time are spent outdoors (just imagine Chick-Fil-A, but for medical care) . The SmartMED Drive-Thru medical team is committed to an exceptional patient experience, to our community and to one another. Every member of the team is respected and valued by both Leadership, and the patients that we care for. Duties Greet patients warmly as they arrive in the drive-thru lane Accurately collect and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the Athenahealth EMR Scan insurance and select the correct insurance package Verify insurance coverage and determine applicable copay/balance. Collect payments efficiently and securely Maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative team members Provide support in other operational areas during downtime Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance at all times Experience Prior experience in a medical office environment or clinic setting is highly preferred Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms Strong computer skills with familiarity in Microsoft Office applications and health information management software. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient service excellence in a fast-paced environment Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations Previous experience in ER hospital settings is advantageous for understanding specialized workflows This position will begin as a 1099 contractor and evolve into a fulltime W-2 position with full benefits, assuming that both parties feel it's a fit. Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
