Job Description

Busy physician's office looking for a front office, point of contact. Duties include greeting patients, verifying insurance information, collecting applicable co-payments, answering multiple phone lines, processing paperwork, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, arrange patient referrals and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients. Be outgoing and a team player. The ideal candidate will be able to manage their time, operate efficiently in a fast paced environment and maintain professionalism in stressful situations. Fulltime, Monday-Friday 7a-4p or 8a-5p. General Task List Serves patients by greeting and assisting them with necessary paperwork, scheduling appointments, and maintaining proper records and accounts Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and check over them to ensure all fields are completed Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties, answering patients' questions, and maintaining the reception area Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information upon arrival for appointments Maintains patient chart by ensuring that all necessary documentation from past system has been scanned in appropriately Providing reminder phone calls to patients to ensure that they will be attending their appointments, rescheduling when necessary Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges Inquires with patient insurance when necessary to ensure that patient has active coverage Monitors patient accounts for upcoming appointments to ensure that pre-registration has been completed Scans and routes patient documents appropriately Maintains outgoing referrals for recommended additional consultations within other specialties Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies Receives and routes incoming faxes appropriately Schedule necessary follow up visits prior to patient leaving Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Subject to additional tasks deemed appropriate by leadership Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior medical experience preferred
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent organization and time management skills EPIC Experience is preferred
