Job Description

Southeastern Rheumatology Alliance is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our healthcare team in Watkinsville, GA. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families by facilitating smooth interactions during their healthcare visits. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, empathy, and a passion for assisting patients in navigating the healthcare system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors courteously and professionally. Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently using electronic scheduling systems. Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and medical history during registration. Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances from patients in a timely manner. Answer phone calls and inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Assist patients with completing registration forms and other necessary paperwork. Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers as directed by physicians. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions. Collaborate with healthcare providers and support staff to ensure patient satisfaction and continuity of care. Perform other administrative duties as assigned, such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
Qualifications:
1 year or more in a healthcare environment Associate degree or any combination of education and work experience in a customer service-related role. Experience with Medical terminology
