Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs duties related to the scheduling and processing of patients for medical services according to established guidelines. Provides information for financial assistance to patients in identifying resources to cover anticipated clinic charges not covered by health plan, insurance, or other sources.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.
Constant:
repetitive arm/hand motions.
Frequent:
reaching below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
Occasional:
standing, walking, sitting, stooping/bending, twisting body, lifting, pushing/pulling and carrying weight up to 20 pounds, reaching at shoulder level.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE
High school diploma or equivalent.
B. EXPERIENCE
One (1) year general office, clerical, or customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare related setting, such as a clinic, hospital, health care agency, medical insurance, physician's office, etc; or completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program/degree.
Experience to demonstrate:
o Ability to operate office equipment such as computer, copier, facsimile, and telephone. o Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. o Ability to keep accurate records and do mathematical calculations. Knowledge of
ICD-10 & CPT
