Job Description

Patient Access Representative:
On behalf of our healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Patient Access Representative for a contract role. This position is onsite at our client's Chicago, Illinois office.
Job Description:
The Patient Access Representative role involves ensuring seamless patient access to healthcare services while maintaining high standards of customer service and patient confidentiality. The role is integral to fostering a positive first impression of the healthcare organization and involves collaboration with various hospital departments to facilitate patient scheduling and registration.
Responsibilities:
  • Consistently practice Patients First philosophy and adhere to high standards of customer service.
  • Respond to questions and concerns, forwarding issues to Team Lead or Operations Coordinator as necessary.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.
  • Correctly identify and collect patient demographic information.
  • Interact with hospital departments and physicians offices to schedule and direct patients.
  • Perform medical necessity checks and communicate options to patients.
  • Inform patients of financial account issues and complete out-of-pocket estimations.
  • Provide training and education as needed.
  • Manage work schedule efficiently, completing tasks on time.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance reviews and use effective service recovery skills.
Mandatory Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of customer service or medical office experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer data-entry/typing.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Additional education.
  • Additional language skills.
  • Healthcare finance and/or healthcare insurance experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in a healthcare setting, especially patient scheduling and/or registration.
Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position.
Assignment Location:
Chicago, Illinois, onsite.
