Non-Exempt Position Summary Ardent Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and reliable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to assist with monitoring patients receiving Spravato® (esketamine) treatment. This position plays an important role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and adherence to treatment protocols during the required post administration observation period. The CNA will provide direct observation of patients following Spravato administration, obtain and document vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, and pulse oximetry, monitor for changes in patient condition, assist with patient needs, and promptly communicate concerns to the supervising nurse or provider. The CNA serves as an important member of the treatment team in maintaining compliance with Spravato REMS requirements and clinic protocols while ensuring a safe and supportive treatment environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor patients continuously during the required two hour post administration observation period following Spravato treatment. Obtain and document blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, and other vital signs as directed by the supervising nurse or provider. Perform and document pre treatment, intra treatment, and post treatment vital sign monitoring in accordance with clinic policies and Spravato protocols. Monitor patients for adverse reactions, including excessive sedation, dizziness, nausea, anxiety, elevated blood pressure, decreased oxygen saturation, or changes in responsiveness. Immediately report abnormal vital signs, concerning symptoms, or changes in patient condition to the supervising Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Physician. Assist patients with comfort measures, ambulation, restroom needs, and other non clinical support services during treatment sessions. Ensure patients remain within the designated monitoring area throughout the observation period. Maintain a calm, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients receiving treatment. Document patient observations, vital signs, and monitoring activities according to clinic protocols. Assist with room preparation, cleaning, and turnover between patients. Verify that blood pressure and pulse oximetry monitoring equipment is available and functioning properly before treatment sessions. Assist with emergency response procedures under the direction of licensed clinical staff when necessary. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements. Follow all clinic policies, procedures, infection control standards, and safety protocols. Qualifications Required Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Current CPR certification. High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to accurately obtain and document blood pressure, pulse, and pulse oximetry readings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain attentive and observant for extended periods. Ability to maintain professionalism when working with individuals experiencing mental health conditions. Preferred Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, outpatient medical clinics, infusion centers, recovery services, or procedural care settings. Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs. Experience monitoring patients following medical procedures or treatments. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the shift. Ability to assist patients with mobility as needed. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong observation and patient engagement skills. Ability to accurately obtain and document blood pressure, pulse, and pulse oximetry measurements. Ability to identify abnormal vital signs and promptly escalate concerns to licensed clinical staff. Familiarity with patient monitoring equipment and basic medical terminology. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Commitment to providing respectful, patient centered care.
