Job Description

Responsible for registering all hospital patients—inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room—and ensuring the accurate and timely collection of patient information. Facilitates smooth patient admissions while maintaining a high standard of customer service and compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Registers patients for all hospital services, including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care. Establishes and updates patient accounts, ensuring accurate entry of personal, billing, and insurance information. Collects and scans insurance cards, government IDs, and guarantor documentation into the electronic health record (EHR) system. Obtains required patient signatures on consent forms, face sheets, and admission paperwork. Directs patients to the correct department or service area post-registration. Alerts nursing supervisors or emergency department personnel immediately when a critical or high-risk patient is identified during registration. Performs daily insurance verification checks and ensures preauthorization requirements are met when applicable. Runs daily Insurance Verification and Registration Quality reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of records. Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA regulations at all times.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction. Proficiency with electronic health record systems and basic office software. Knowledge of insurance processes and medical terminology preferred. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Schedule:
Less than 32 hours per pay period.

As needed.
Requirements:
