This is an Hourly position. Overview This job is located in Ottawa,IL Weekend Program 5/6, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 2:30pm to 11:00pm, plus rotating holidays 24 hours a week
POSITION SUMMARY
: The Patient Access Associate ensures each registered patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, which includes patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor and registration precision in a manner which they understand what services they are receiving, their financial responsibilities for the services provided, and expectations of them while at the facility. Excellent patient service skills are expected to create an exceptional first impression of OSF’s services to the patients, families, and other external patients over the phone or in person. A high degree of deductive reasoning and logic skills are necessary in order to solve issues that can arise in a complex, multi-payer situation. The Patient Access Associate will commit to working 5 out of every 6 weekends. Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School/GED Experience:
1 year in an office clerical setting or customer service environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications Experience:
3 years in an office clerical setting or customer service environment. Direct experience in a revenue cycle or medical setting Advanced knowledge of CPT4, ICD9/10, HCPCS, and modifiers. Knowledge of medical terminology Other requirements/information: ​Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications and website navigation Problem solving, conflict management, time management, good oral and written communication skills Required to complete all role specific revenue cycle training and certification within 12 months OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
