Work hours are somewhere between 7 am and 5:30 pm dependent on the position and patient needs. Some positions may work on a Saturday rotation with hours between 7 am and 12 pm. The Patient Account Representative I is responsible for resolving all types of patient account balances. Responsibilities include processing insurance claims, payments, insurance eligibility, benefit verification, account follow up, and assisting patients with financial options. This position requires direct communication with patients and other team members. Multitasking skills are a must.Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent One-year medical billing experience is required (physician office billing preferred) One-year customer service experience Working knowledge of payer billing guidelines, including chart documentation requirements and codingEssential Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills Must possess strong analytical, investigational and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose the "root of the problem" and develop recommendation for problem resolution Strong organization and computer skills Excellent follow-up skills Efficient with MS Word and Excel Well-organized with attention to detail Excellent customer service skills Ability to be flexible and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work as a team player Strong mathematical skills Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurance billing guidelines Friendly service and positive attitudeSimilar jobs in Peoria, IL
