Job Description Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations is responsible for facilitating new patient's transition to Option Care Health services with the goal of delivering a consistent onboarding experience where patients and referral partners feel Option Care Health makes it easy to transition care. The Senior Specialist, Patient Access - Specialty Operations works in conjunction with Sales to prepare patients for OCH services and facilitates all aspects of the patient's transition to home/AIS. Additional reponsibilities as designated by leadership inclusive but not limited to training and special projects and any additional tasks assigned by manager.
Job Description:
Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Engages with patient, referral source, sales, pharmacy, and nursing to coordinate discharge and secure nursing and delivery. Creates, communicates and obtains all required documentation for new referrals. Secures patient's upfront payment including assisting patients to find avenues for payment where needed (identifies opportunities and directs patient to financial assistance program). Supports the ongoing activities needed to ensure clean claims on hold and denial management (follow-up on paperwork where missing). Assist Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed including acting as backup for Lead Specialist. Assists Lead by communicating opportunities for improvement in process and offers resolutions to present to PRM Supervisory Responsibilities Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Internal Candidates:
1 year experience as a Patient Registration Specialist. Basic Qualifications Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time. Ability to work in a fast past environment. Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus. High degree of customer service skills required. Ability to trouble shoot, problem solves and collaborate with cross-functional team members across sales and operation functions. Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs) Previous healthcare/medical billing experience preferred. May perform other duties as assigned Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below: Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Pay Range is $21.07-$35.12
