Job Description

We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to support front-end patient registration and access services in Evansville, Indiana. This Long-term Contract position focuses on creating a positive experience for patients while handling scheduling, insurance verification, documentation, and billing-related inquiries with accuracy. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing phone-based and clerical responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Welcome patients and gather required demographic, insurance, and coverage details to complete accurate registration records.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and respond to inbound and outbound calls regarding visits, services, and general access questions.
  • Review insurance information, deductibles, copays, and medical coverage details to help patients understand financial responsibilities.
  • Maintain complete and timely documentation in the appropriate computer systems while following established departmental procedures.
  • Support front-desk and receptionist activities, including communication with patients, providers, and internal teams.
  • Assist with billing-related questions and perform ad hoc financial tasks as needed to support patient account processes.
  • Carry out clerical duties such as typing, paper handling, record labeling, and other administrative work tied to patient access operations.
  • Follow protocols and contribute to efficient workflow optimization while ensuring service standards and compliance expectations are met.
