The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a comprehensive understanding of managed care processes, and experience in medical office operations. As a Referral Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing workers' compensation referrals, ensuring timely communication between providers, insurance companies, and patients, working both independently as well as alongside our physician and friendly office staff. Responsibilities Coordinate and process workers' compensation referrals efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. Work alongside physician, assist with documentation, works status, referral scripts, and scribing. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and patients to facilitate seamless referral management. Maintain detailed records of referrals, appointments, and correspondence in medical records systems while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Utilize medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to accurately document diagnoses and procedures. Skills Experience working in a medical or legal office environment with familiarity in medical terminology and medical records management (preferred) Proficient typist, comfortable with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) PDF editor & basic computer software Familiarity with EMR's, CPT and ICD code set, (preferred) Understanding of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient information at all times. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple referrals simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Bilingual (spanish) advantageous but not required Effective communication skills for liaising between healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients.

Schedule and Work Environment:

Full time hours -M-Th Close at noon Fridays no weekends Family owned Orthopedic clinic with colaborative patient-centered care

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods during clinic operations, ability to remain stationary for portions of the day and move throughout te office
• Frequent use of computer, office machinery, and communication devices.
• Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
