Job Description

Operating Room Patient Care Attendant — Willis Knighton North In this role, you will provide essential nonclinical assistance that helps ensure a safe, efficient, and patient-centered operating room environment, and support our perioperative services team. This position is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare, patient safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced surgical setting. Participation in a rotating call schedule is required, and the final shift will be determined upon completion of orientation. Key Responsibilities Patient Support Safely transport patients to and from the operating room and perioperative areas Assist with patient positioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment Provide comfort and reassurance to patients as directed by clinical staff Operating Room Support Prepare operating rooms by setting up equipment, furniture, and supplies Clean and turnover operating rooms between procedures following infection prevention guidelines. Stock and organize supplies and equipment. Transport soiled instruments, equipment, and waste according to policy. Safety and Team Collaboration Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA) standards. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazards. Work closely with nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, and physicians to support efficient case flow.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and teamwork.
Preferred:
Prior experience in a hospital, operating room, or patient care environment Knowledge of safe patient handling and healthcare safety practice

NS-Inpatient Surgery Schedule:
Full-Time, Day, Monday - Friday 0600-1430
