Job Description

Per Diem, Patient Services Representative, Radiology Support, Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA Schedule may include 8:00am-4:30pm, 11:00am-7:30pm Reporting to the Lead Patient Service Representative, the Patient Service Representative(PSR) rotates between the departments: X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, and Mammography. The PSR greets patients and visitors entering the department. The PSR generates and sorts exam requisitions, accurately enters exams into the HIS/RIS system. Must maintain a high level of patient confidentiality via HIPPA guidelines and be committed to Service Excellence at all times. Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required Medical Terminology course preferred. Previous coursework related to administrative skills preferred. Experience One year in a medical office environment preferred. Customer service, data entry, and HIS/RIS experience a plus. Licensure and/or Certification None required. Skills Organization and multitasking skills Ability to read and communicate effectively using medical terminology Accurate data entry skills Courteous and professional manner when dealing with public both in person and on the phone Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, i.e., answer phones, give verbal reports, generate paperwork in an organized manner all at the same time as well as working with minimal supervision Knowledge of medical terminology Maintains standard of performance which promote Service Excellence Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Computer skills required. Ability to maintain confidential information.
