Description:
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for patients at the Allergy & Immunology office, ensuring a positive and efficient experience from checking-in, scheduling, to check-out. The PSR operates the front desk operations, provides outstanding customer service, handles patient inquiries, coordinates appointments, and ensures accurate patient information and billing processes.
Job Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner Answer incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments Verify insurance information and personal patient details Collect co-pays, process payments, and issue receipts Assist patients with completing required forms and documentation Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR IMS) system Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments as needed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree in healthcare or a related field preferred 1-2 years of experience in a medical office, preferably in an allergy/immunology or specialty practice setting Experience with EMR systems and insurance verification is a plus Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and medical records software Requires sitting for extended periods and working at a computer May occasionally require standing or walking to assist patients or handle office tasks Ability to travel to different office locations as needed to support the team Ability to commute to Westfield, MA Work location: In person
