Our established and expanding integrative medicine clinic in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a dependable, high-energy Medical Office Assistant to join our team. This is an active, hands-on role where you will play a vital part in keeping our clinic running smoothly and ensuring exceptional patient care. Please note:
A Medical Assistant certification is not required; this is an entry-level position. You will spend the majority of your shift on the move—standing, bending, lifting, preparing treatment rooms, assisting with front desk operations, and supporting patient tasks. Key Responsibilities Elevate the
Patient Experience:
Warmly greet and check in patients, assist with initial symptom screening, and process clinical check-outs efficiently.
Coordinate Scheduling & Records:
Manage appointment scheduling and clinical documentation to ensure absolute accuracy across patient records and communications (utilizing Google Workspace and Microsoft Office). Securely collect payments.
Handle General Administration:
Maintain essential office infrastructure, including digital scanning, filing, managing incoming phone calls, and executing email follow-ups.
Optimize Clinic Workflow:
Directly support healthcare providers with their daily workflows. Oversee patient treatment rooms, ensuring timely setup, rigorous sanitization, and turnover between appointments.
Maintain Community Safety:
Strictly adhere to infection-control protocols, including wearing KN95 masks, maintaining a 100% fragrance-free environment, practicing meticulous hand hygiene (keeping short, clean nails), and frequently sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
Manage Inventory:
Assist with clinical stock tracking, organizing incoming supplies, and ensuring rooms remain fully stocked. Contribute as a
Team Player:
Pitch in wherever needed to support the clinic community—whether that means helping a colleague, prepping a room, caring for office plants, or ensuring the environment looks its best.
Work Schedule Available Shifts:
Monday-Thursday (9:30 AM - 8:30 PM); Friday-Saturday (9:30 AM - 5:30 PM)
Hours:
Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week for 12 months. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. Ability to commit to a consistent schedule of 20+ hours per week for a minimum of 12 consecutive months. At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, hospitality, customer service, or another client-facing role. Strict adherence to clinic health policies: Continuous masking, maintaining a fragrance-free environment, and professional grooming standards (short, clean, natural nails only; no artificial or acrylic nails). Physical capacity to work at a standing desk for extended intervals, bend, reach, climb step stools/ladders, and lift up to 30 pounds for inventory restocking. Capability to safely move, position, and transfer patients when required. Access to reliable personal transportation (our Bethesda location is not easily accessible via public transit). Strong verbal and written communication skills, fast/accurate typing, and basic software literacy. High level of integrity and discretion regarding confidential medical information.
