Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Job Summary:
Creates a welcoming and professional environment for our patients and visitors by demonstrating exceptional customer service. Uses technology systems to manage a wide range of patient requests including appointment scheduling, patient registration, answering general questions and meeting needs, while reducing financial loss and ensuring compliance. Provides a comprehensive and proactive patient experience while performing point of service activities and entering and maintaining confidential and accurate patient information.
Education:
Position requires a high school education. Associates degree or higher preferred.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
None Experience:
Position requires 3-5 years customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
Other Requirements:
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills, in order to communicate effectively with providers, staff, patients, and family members. Must be able to collaborate with patients and caregivers, clinical staff, and practice leadership in a positive and productive manner. Proficient phone, computer, internet experience, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience required. Knowledge of insurance billing procedures and familiarization of medical terminology. Must have ability to multi-task, possess organization skills, be adaptable, and maintain personal composure under stressful, fast-paced conditions. Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail, working both independently and as part of a team while prioritizing administrative tasks. Occasional travel may be required to support other CHMG office locations. Motivated self-starter, demonstrating a strong ability to use initiative and judgement to identify, analyze, and solve problems. Ability to offer friendly, courteous assistance to every patient to achieve an ideal patient encounter and professional experience at CalvertHealth.
