In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations. Your expertise in medical administrative tasks, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and strong communication skills will help facilitate efficient patient care and accurate documentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment while utilizing your comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding, billing, and office management. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, managing front desk operations with professionalism and courtesy Schedule appointments using various EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Practice Fusion Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification Collect patient information accurately, including intake forms and demographic data Manage medical billing processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare claims submissions Review and update medical records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality Assist with documentation review, ensuring accuracy in care plans, clinical notes, and billing documentation Handle phone inquiries using multi-line phone systems while maintaining excellent phone etiquette Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and correspondence Support clinic operations by managing appointment reminders, patient follow-ups, and care coordination Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong clerical skills Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix/Eaglesoft is highly preferred Knowledge of medical coding including CPT codes and
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards for accurate billing and documentation Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to health information management and patient privacy Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry Exceptional patient service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and communication abilities Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinic environment Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations Previous experience with dental terminology or dental office management is advantageous but not required Join our team as a Medical Office Assistant where your expertise will directly impact patient experiences while supporting the seamless operation of our healthcare facility.
