High SchoolResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Welcome and greet all patients and visitors in person or over the phone utilizing established service standards. Obtain and input accurate patient demographic and insurance details into the Epic system. Verify active insurance coverage utilizing Real Time Eligibility (RTE) or official insurance portals. Manage and resolve Epic Workqueues (WQs) daily and coordinate walk-in testing schedules. Calculate and collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances while performing daily cash drawer reconciliation. Utilize a workstation on wheels (WOW) to comfortably perform administrative registration directly at the patient's bedside.
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent educational documentation. Previous experience in medical registration, billing, or a healthcare administrative role. strong knowledge of health insurance verification, authorization, and basic medical terminology. Outstanding communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to team accountability. Must clear standard onboarding clearances, including background verification, drug screens, physical exams, and full hospital health/vaccination mandates.
Preferred:
1-2 years of college education, CHAA certification, and familiarity with Epic, ICD-10, or CPT-4 coding.
