SUMMARY:
The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator/Registrar works in collaboration with the Trauma Program leadership and is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the Trauma Performance Improvement activities & abstraction of relevant clinical and demographic information from the medical records to identify the care rendered to the patient for the purpose of compliance, research, and quality improvement at NKC Health. In addition, provides coordination and facilitation of performance improvement activities including data collection, analysis, loop closure, enhance clinical outcomes, trending, and benchmarking of data outcomes at a local, regional, state, and national level.
EXPERIENCE
3+ years of trauma nursing experience in emergency department or ICU setting required. Masters degree in public health, Nursing, or Health Administration, preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Performance Improvement and trauma data abstraction experience highly desired.
LICENSE/CERT
Required:
BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association), RN (Registered Nurse) State of Missouri, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) within 6 months of hire, AAIS (Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medicine Injury Scaling Course within 1 year of hire, ATSTRC (American Trauma Society Trauma Registrar Course within 1 year of hire, ICD 10 Course within 1 year of hire
Preferred:
CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
