We are searching for a Patient Service Representative for our Wentzville Primary Care office located at 1078 Wentzville Parkway!
Opportunity:
Full-time opening Monday - Friday No nights, weekends, or holidays Outpatient clinical practice
Day-to-Day:
Perform patient check-in/check-out Schedule patient appointments Collect co-payments Verify insurance Register patients/update patient demographics Answer the telephone Balance monies at day end May be required to enter physician-related charges into the computer May be required to bill hospital/nursing home charges There is the opportunity to train to be a Medical Assistant if this is an area you desire to grow in: learn to room patients, take vitals, and assist the Provider in the back office. Who we are seeking ( preferred ) : The Patient Service Representative is highly visible in their interactions with patients and must therefore project a positive office image at all times including smiling, greeting patients with enthusiasm, and maintaining an upbeat, positive attitude in all interactions with patients and coworkers. Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent. 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of medical terminology, Knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc. PC/Windows proficiency. Medical coding familiarity. Willingness to assign high priority to patient comfort and satisfaction. Ability to communicate effectively and to work compatibly with physicians, coworkers, and employees in other departments.
