Starkville, MS About the Role Pause Pain & Wellness is looking for a friendly, dependable, and organized Patient Care Specialist to join our team. This is a desk-based patient support role where you will be one of the first points of contact for our patients. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys helping people, can stay calm in a busy environment, and is comfortable answering phones, explaining processes, and assisting patients with their needs from start to finish. This position is not a hands-on clinical role. It is focused on patient communication, phone support, administrative tasks, and helping patients navigate the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program application process through MSDOH. Responsibilities Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and friendly manner Assist patients with scheduling, questions, and general support Help patients complete or understand their MSDOH state application process Provide clear instructions and guidance to patients regarding required steps and documentation Assist with billing questions and basic payment-related tasks when needed Complete administrative tasks such as scanning, uploading, organizing, and updating patient information Communicate with clinic staff and providers to ensure patients receive timely support Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines Provide excellent customer service and make patients feel supported and understood Help with other front desk or administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Previous customer service, front desk, call center, or medical office experience preferred Strong communication and phone skills Comfortable using computers, online portals, and office systems Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Friendly, patient, and professional attitude Dependable and punctual Willingness to learn the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program process Medical office or billing experience is a plus, but not required What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who truly enjoys helping patients. Many of our patients need extra guidance, patience, and reassurance when completing their state application or understanding next steps. This role is perfect for someone who is kind, detail-oriented, and able to explain things clearly. $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
