Job Description

Job Summary Detail-oriented healthcare professional responsible for coordinating medical records management, patient referrals, and administrative support while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Maintains accurate patient information, facilitates communication among patients, providers, and insurance companies. Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills in a fast-paced medical environment. Duties & Responsibilities Process, maintain, and manage patient medical records while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Respond to requests for medical records and facilitate the timely release of patient information. Coordinate referrals to specialists, diagnostic facilities, and ancillary healthcare providers. Obtain insurance authorizations and verify referral requirements to ensure continuity of patient care. Track referral status and maintain accurate referral documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding referral needs and requirements. Requirements and Qualifications A high school diploma or GED certificate At least two years of experience in a medical office or similar setting Accurate typing and data entry skills Superb customer service, communication skills and phone etiquette Knowledge of HIPAA requirements regarding patient confidentiality
