Job:
The Admissions Registrar is responsible for gathering, verifying, and documenting demographic and financial data on patients. The Admissions Registrar would need to work consistently to demonstrate the mission, vision, beliefs, core values and standards of behavior of the organization.
What You'll Do:
Provides patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Care Directives, and important messages from Medicare/Campus. Receives and provides shift report at beginning and end of shifts. Obtain consents, assignment of benefits, and releases. Obtains information in reference to religious preference and affiliation. Practices safe transport of patients. Initiates inquiries and ensures receipt of pre-certification and pre-authorization for services.
Who You Are:
Perform routine or repetitive duties working from detailed instructions and under standard procedures. Endure periods of heavy workload or stress. Work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations. Interact with irate customers. Interact with physicians and their staff and participate as a team member with individuals inside and outside the department. Proceed independently following standard practices and procedures, referring questions or problems to supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Courses in typing and computer skills; medical terminology preferred.
Experience:
Customer service relations and office experience preferred.
