Job summary:
RWJBH is seeking an Assistant Director in the Post Coronary Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus, This is a night position 40 hours/week, Please note the hours of this position are 7:00 pm
  • 7:30 am with an additional 8 hours of office time bi-weekly,
Education Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN required
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
Licensure Required:
  • Current active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in New Jersey,
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support BLS for Healthcare Providers required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support ACLS for healthcare providers required,
Licensure Preferred:
  • Nursing Certification Preferred, Experience Required:
  • At least 3 to 4 years of experience working in a telemetry acute care setting preferred, with Charge Nurse responsibilities,
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members,
  • Dedication to providing patient-centered care and promoting positive patient experiences,
Experience Preferred:
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to lead teams in alignment
Job Responsibilities:
  • Managing a team of nurses and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance,
  • Providing guidance and support to improve nursing practice and morale,
  • Ensuring that necessary resources, such as equipment, supplies, and staffing levels, are available to provide safe and effective patient care,
  • Manage department budgets, ensure cost-effective care delivery, and optimize the use of resources within the organization,
  • Monitoring patient outcomes and implementing quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care,
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and safety protocols,
  • Creating and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality nursing care,
  • Addressing concerns from patients, families, and staff, and resolving conflicts in a timely and professional manner,
  • Encourage ongoing education and training for nursing staff to enhance skills and foster a culture of professional development,
  • Contribute to long-term planning for the unit or facility, including the implementation of new technological processes, or services to improve patient care and operational efficiency,
  • May perform other duties as assigned or directed by leadership,
