As New Mexico's leader in evidence-based addiction treatment, the admissions process serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking recovery. This role is critical to ensuring every prospective client receives a welcoming, professional, and seamless experience from their initial inquiry through admission. Key Responsibilities Your role will be to facilitate the admissions process while ensuring exceptional customer service and timely coordination of care.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as the first point of contact for prospective clients, family members, referral sources, and community partners Conducting initial screenings to assess client needs and determine appropriate levels of care Collecting demographic, insurance, and financial information accurately and efficiently Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits with commercial insurance providers, Medicaid, Medicare, and other payers Coordinating medical clearances, clinical assessments, and admission scheduling Maintaining accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system Collaborating with clinical, medical, and administrative staff to ensure smooth client transitions into treatment Maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational confidentiality standards Participating in a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule to support admissions outside normal business hours Building positive relationships with referral partners while representing Turning Point with professionalism and compassion What You Bring Minimum of two years of customer service, healthcare, admissions, intake, or related experience Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and handling confidential information Understanding of substance use disorder treatment services or behavioral healthcare Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Exceptional organizational and time management abilities High level of emotional intelligence, professionalism, integrity, and reliability Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel Basic computer troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple software platforms and secure login credentials Preferred Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent professional experience Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, healthcare admissions, or medical office operations Experience verifying insurance benefits and coordinating healthcare services Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Candidates in recovery with two or more years of sustained recovery are encouraged to apply The Perks At Turning Point, you'll become part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery.
