This position will provide administrative support for the Black Lung Division, primarily the Outreach Program. How does it get done? The incumbent in this position will complete travel vouchers for the clinic staff, call miners to schedule for clinic, communicate with the site managers or host of clinic site for upcoming clinics. When on clinic, this miner representative will complete the registration of clinic patients and provide spirometry testing for patients. After clinic, this miner representative will be responsible for putting in all charges for the clinic to ensure payment, documentation of the patient's chart into the Black Lung Program's database. Out of town travel will be required in this position. Who are the customers? Patients, miners, residents and staff members. Ideal Candidate Patients, miners, residents and staff members. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of office administration or public relations experience. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must successfully complete and pass a background check. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some occasional travel is required for meetings and conferences.
