Work Shifts 9:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M 37.5 Hours Weekly Duties & Responsibilities 1.Provide interpreter services between English and target language for LEP patients and providers at Lincoln Medical Center. 2.Participate in translation and review of written patient information, including but not limited to pamphlets, brochures, flyers, and signage both in-house and outsourced. 3.Maintain records to track trend type and frequency of utilization of medical interpreter services. 4.Assist the Language Assistance Department in conducting in-service training of internal departmental staff. 5.Under supervision from the Language Assistance Department Coordinator, act as liaison to vendors of document translation and telephonic interpreting services to ensure these are provided efficiently and effectively. 6.Assist the Language Assistance Department in Coordinating the Signage Review for the facility to ensure that signs are consistent with the language needs of our patients. 7.Promote a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace, which enhances and furthers the Mission, Vision, and Value statements. 8.Meet all compliance standards / requirements such as annual physical evaluation / assessment, Annual in-service; Right-To-Know; Fire Drill Participation; etc. 9.Participate in Performance Improvement Activities. 10.Be responsible for enhancing own personal and professional development as a medical interpreter through attendance at outside and Lincoln Hospital's training activities. 11.Be responsible for wearing professional attire to the workplace as well as during off site work when conducting business on behalf of Lincoln Hospital. 12.Exhibit flexibility within Lincoln Hospital as it pertains to work assignment, workplace, site designation, and Tour of Duty. 13.Adhere to the Vision / Mission / Value statement of the organization in all endeavors. Minimum Qualifications 1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Hospital Administration, Business Administration or in a health care specialization or related discipline; or 2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in fields, as described in "1" above or in social sciences; and one (1) year of paid, full-time responsible experience in an administrative, supervisory or consultative capacity performing functions related to the coordination and delivery of patient care services or similar functions in a hospital or a health care setting; or 3. A satisfactory equivalent of education, training and/or experience.
