Full Time Opportunity Address:
301 Old Manchester Road, Ste 105, Poughkeepsie

Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Performs the day-to-day clerical functions in the practice's offices. Greets patients and their families, checks-in patients, checks-out patients, collects point of service payments, and addresses various patient inquiries and requests. Collaborates with the patient care team and providers to ensure office efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This list may not include all the duties that may be assigned. Greets arriving patients and their parties promptly, and with kind professionalism. Verifies patient demographic & insurance information in the HER. Updates data as needed. Provides necessary forms & documents and collects signatures from responsible parties. Schedules appointments as requested by patients and reviews appointment details with the patient including appointment date, time, location, and provider. Collects copays, deductibles, and coinsurance in accordance with practice policies; provides receipt of payment following all transactions. Balances payments at close of business. Maintains a clean and orderly waiting area, and appropriately addresses or reports any issues that arise. Exercises sound judgment when addressing patients' concerns and notifies medical staff without delay in an actual or suspected emergency. Answers phone calls pertaining to patient services promptly, and in a professional, polite, and friendly manner. Takes messages for providers, provides outside parties with appropriate information, and addresses patient needs efficiently. Promotes teamwork by collaborating with providers and clinical staff. Assists other departments as requested. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCTION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED certificate is required. Previous experience in healthcare customer service or clerical roles preferred but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
Basic computer skills. Comfortability with the pace and confidentiality of a healthcare environment. Great interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to maintain calm professionalism when faced with challenging interactions. Multilingual is preferred but not required. Customer service oriented.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Patient facing. Indoor office work environment. Full-time during normal business hours. Some travel may be required.
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods. Ability to wear PPE as required. Lift and carry approximately 15 lbs. Intact senses relevant to the role
Pay:
$16.00 - $24.38 per hour
