Job Description

Attendance Coordinator Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio (ESC of Eastern Ohio) Austintown, OH 44515 $16.50 an hour - Full-time $16.50 an hour - Full-time
NON-BARGAINING POSITION
Salary/Hours:
Hourly Rate:
$16.50 per hour
Hours:
5.75-hours per day not to exceed 28.75 hours per week
Daily Work Schedule:
scheduled hours & times will be determined by the needs of the building
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements state, district, and school policies on attendance Monitors daily attendance of students to identify excessive and/or habitually absent students Maintains accurate attendance records Sends out all required notifications of absences to parents/guardians in compliance with HB410 Confers with the School Resource Officer, counselors, and administration weekly on current attendance issues Counsels students and their families on the consequences of unexcused absences Investigates/verifies physician excuses as needed Investigates attendance problems and confers with students, parents, and staff to discover underlying causes of excessive absences and/or tardiness Creates intervention plans to correct excessive absences, habitual absences, and/or tardiness and monitors compliance with the plan Prepares and presents reports on excessive and habitually absent students at building and/or district attendance meetings Prepares proper referral paperwork to notify Mahoning County Juvenile Justice Center, School Resource Officer/APD, and District Truancy Officer of chronic or habitually truant students Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration
Qualifications and Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Valid driver's license Favorable BCI/FBI background checks Negative drug screen Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
