Harding Hospital/East Hospital-Talbot Hall provides the most comprehensive behavioral healthcare services for adults in central Ohio. We offer more treatment options and a more experienced and diversified staff than any other psychiatric or behavioral healthcare provider in the area. All of our psychiatric emergency, behavioral health urgent care, inpatient, outpatient, IOP, and partial hospitalization services include a comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis from a qualified clinician and implementation of an individualized treatment plan. We offer specialized evidence-based services for patients experiencing psychiatric emergency & crisis, need for behavioral health urgent care, mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, trauma- and stress-related disorders, and sexual dysfunction.

POSITION SUMMARY
The BHUC-Talbot Nurse is responsible to be the primary responder to manage the triage/intake of patients in the BHUC-Talbot walk-in clinic, as well as incoming BHUC-Talbot clinic phone calls. The BHUC-Talbot nurse, after triage or phone call, will determine if patient is clinically appropriate for BHUC-Talbot or needs higher level of care (i.e., Emergency Department level of care), and then assists and/or directs patient to that level of care. The BHUC-Talbot Nurse conducts a focused triage assessment, noting signs that may indicate mental health, substance use, or both and prioritizing the patient's immediate safety and medical needs. In addition to providing brief mental health and substance use disorder triage to walk-in patients and managing incoming clinic phone calls, the BHUC-Talbot nurse will also be responsible for obtaining patient vitals, administer breathalyzer (when indicated), provide comfort care for BHUC-Talbot patients experiencing withdrawal, assist with resolving issues with prescriptions and pharmacies, returning phone messages the same day they are received, administering Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and long-acting injectable MAT or psychiatric medications when prescribed by BHUC physicians/advanced practice providers, assist with obtaining and/or forwarding lab results, urine drug screens, provide education to patients regarding medications and side effects as needed, respond to messages sent by patients in MyChart, and other patient needs as requested by clinic staff. The BHUC-Talbot nurse acts as the "front door" to the BHUC-Talbot clinic and helps coordinate patient care.Minimum Qualifications:
