Job Description

The Patient Service Representative is responsible for preparing charts for patient visits, including but not limited to: Greeting patients, checking and entering arrival time. Updating and/or entering patients in practice management system. Having the appropriate information prepared for the clinical staff, copying insurance card and verifying insurance coverage. Notifying the clinical staff when a patient has arrived. Providing efficient office support, teamwork and outstanding customer service. Understanding and explaining Center policies regarding late arrival and no shows. Directing patients on scheduling appointments Assisting patients with forms including Medical Record Release forms when requesting medical records. Taking messages for prescription refills and paperwork requests. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent certificate required, along with two to three years of experience in a health care facility preferred. Current CPR certification or ability to receive certification within 90 days of hire required. Basic knowledge of third party payers, ICD-10 and CPT coding and medical terminology is preferred. Basic computer and keyboarding skills using MS Office required; previous experience in EMR preferred. Strong oral communication and telephone skills and excellent customer service skills required; bilingual in Spanish helpful. Used to working in a fast-paced work environment; strong prioritization skills needed; must be able to perform multiple tasks at the same time. Salary commensurate with experience.
