Job Description

Toledo Clinic's Cardiology Office, located in Oregon Ohio, is seeking a pert-time Office Assistant to provide front office support (check in/out, schedule, phones) and occasionally room patients when needed. Previous experience in a medical office is preferred. This position will work Tuesday and Thursday (8:30-4:30) and Friday (8:30-12:30).
General Summary:
Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office. Works under the supervision of the
Office Manager Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Example of Essential Duties:
1) Answering phones
  • courteously and professionally.
2) Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc. 3) Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications. 4) Updating insurance information and ABNs 5) Answering general patient questions. 6) Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel. 7) Escorting patients to exam rooms Other Essential Duties May Include ( but are not limited to): 8) Collecting co-pays. 9) At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills. 10) Preparing and cleaning exam rooms. 11) Sorting and prepping patient charts. 12) General office duties (scanning, faxing, etc.) 13) Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Required:
  • Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills required.
  • Computer skills helpful.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
Education:
  • HS diploma or GED.
Preferred:
  • Previous clerical experience in a Drs.
office
