This individual will partner closely with Physicians and practice teams to streamline reimbursement workflows and support patient access in real time. They will provide real-time, point-of-care support for prior authorizations, benefits investigation and financial access. The C-PAL will function as a bridge between patients, providers and payers to ensure timely initiation of therapy and improved patient experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Support & Education:
Serve as a central contact for patients and caregivers; support onboarding, coverage education and adherence
Reimbursement Navigation:
Manage prior authorizations, exceptions and appeals to resolve access barriers
Practice & Physician Support:
Provide real-time guidance on payer requirements, step edits and documentation needs
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Partner with specialty pharmacies, hub services and internal teams to facilitate access
Insights & Compliance:
Track access barriers, document activities and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Bachelor's degree preferred 5+ years of experience in patient access, reimbursement or specialty support services Strong knowledge of payer dynamics, billing and pharmacy workflows High emotional intelligence and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25-50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus—is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
