Job Description

The Emergency Room Registration Representative is accountable for directing patients and visitors, obtaining benefits, eligibility, and authorizations for treatment. The representative will be responsible for entering information to complete the registration, obtaining signatures, collecting applicable patient liability, working assigned Work Queues, and answering incoming calls. Excellent customer service skills are a must.
Qualifications:
Representatives must have the ability to properly collect and accurately update financial and demographic information into a computer; maintain patient confidentiality; provide clear and concise information to those who request it; be able to handle multiple tasks at one time; and be detail-oriented. The position tends to be fast-paced at times, and you will be required to perform other job duties as assigned. This position is for Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:30am - 7pm High School Diploma or equivalent (required). Previous experience in insurance verification, patient access, or a healthcare-related field Knowledge of insurance terminology, plans, and billing processes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with insurance verification or billing software. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy and regulatory standards. Epic experience is a plus.
