AMSAs are essential to the success of this mission and may be assigned to any department/service line of the medical center th have a need. Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Determining health care eligibility for Veteran pients.
  • Administrive processing of Veteran pients in enrollment, benefits, and registrion.
  • Counseling Veteran pients regarding entitlement enrollment for health care benefits and other special programs.
  • Obtaining essential informion and documention from Veteran pients for enrollment activities.
  • Performing scheduling functions for Veteran pients including appointments, cancellions, and re-scheduling.
  • Faciliting communicion between Veterans and other facility consult departments.
  • Support of inpient units and wards with administrive duties during day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Processing and record keeping of inpient medical records.
  • Manual and electronic da entry.
  • Collion of stistical informion.
  • Entry of Physician orders and consult requests.
  • Prepares Veteran pient stistics.
  • Providing reception to incoming and outgoing customers and communicion.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office software to compile da and formule reports
Work Schedule :

Paid Time Off:

Basic Requirements :
United Stes Citizenship:

Educion:
High school diploma, General Educion Development equivalency certifice, or proficiency certifice from a Ste or territorial-level Board or Department of Educion.
Specialized Experience:
one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS5 grade level) in an advanced or complex clinical setting utilizing numerous advanced pient care systems, scheduling appointments across multiple clinics and coordinion of services among a diverse team of medical providers and clinics to include outside agencies, advanced knowledge of medical terminology, advanced knowledge of the technical health care processes, policy and procedures as it reles to coordinion of care. Candides must demonstre the KSAs below : 1. Ability to collabore and communice with a wide range of medical clinicians across multiple disciplines (e.g. medical doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, psychirists, social workers, clinical pharmacists, and nursing staff) to accomplish team goal setting to ensure medical care to pients is met. 2. Ability to independently set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines, ensuring compliance with established processes, policies, and regulions. 3. Ability to communice tactfully and effectively, electronically, by phone, in person, and in writing, with internal and external customers. This may include preparing reports in various forms and presenting da to various organizional levels, as well as resolving pient concerns. 4. Advanced knowledge of the technical health care process (including, but not limited to, scheduling across interdisciplinary coordined care delivery and/or care in the community models and pient health care portals) as it reles to access to care. 5. Advanced knowledge of policies and procedures associed with interdisciplinary coordined care delivery and/or care in the community operional activities th affect pient flow, and pient support care administrive functions to include, but not limited to appointment cycles, outside pient referrals, follow-up care, overbooking, provider availability, etc. 6. Advanced knowledge of medical terminology due to the technical nure of language utilized by clinicians. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfhering Provision as described in the VA Qualificion Standard for this occupion (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupion and meet the criteria).
