8-hour shifts, variable scheduled days Your role with us As a registrar at West Valley Hospital involves courteously and efficiently registering patients for treatment while ensuring all demographic, financial, and clinical information is accurately entered into the electronic medical record system, Epic. The registrar verifies insurance eligibility, collects necessary authorizations and payments, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards across multiple hospital departments. They play a vital role in patient experience, quality assurance, and continuous improvement through Lean principles, all while maintaining exceptional customer service and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment. What you'll do Obtain accurate demographic, guarantor, and financial information; assign the correct medical record and account number providing a database which assures accurate billing and clinical information. Obtain appropriate signatures on all admitting forms as required to assure reimbursement and consent for treatment Facilitate positive interaction with the public, physicians and other employees so guest relations are maximized and the hospital mission and vision is achieved. Communicate with patients of all ages, backgrounds and needs, showing empathy and kindness in all interactions with patients and visitors. Verify insurance eligibility, utilizing online carrier resources. Uses the overhead paging system. Required qualifications 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced customer service environment that included substantial use of data entry and keyboard skills. Additional information Successful candidate will have experience in a health care administrative or clerical environment, including experience with EPIC or other electronic medical record (EMR) system. Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Why Salem Health?
