Job Description

The Front Desk Associate is responsible for maintaining a well-organized physician practice by coordinating patient flow, upholding provider schedules, checking in and out patients.
Responsibilities Check-in/Opener:
  • Prepares the opening of the facility for all departments as well as opening tasks for the front office (i.e. daily insurance verification report and printing of daily schedule).
  • Preserves up to date patient demographics and insurance information and collecting copays
  • Maintains accurate patient flow by arriving and guiding patients to the correct department in a timely manner by monitoring the patient check-in queue and inquiring on behalf of patients who are delayed in the waiting area.
  • Comforts patients by greeting them upon their arrival to the office in a warm and friendly manner while maintaining an orderly reception area
  • Preserves quality service by following organizational standards; Maintains patient privacy by keeping all information found in patient files confidential; HIPAA compliant
Check-out/Closer:
  • Closes the facility for all departments
  • Schedule future visits per physician orders and print schedules.
  • Follows up with reminders to providers when clarification is needed.
  • Return visits queue is addressed throughout the day.
  • Balances all payments taken at close of shift
  • Optimizes patient satisfaction and provider time by scheduling or rescheduling appointments according to patient or provider requests
  • Maintains an interdepartmental work flow by answering phone calls and backing up the scheduling line when required.
  • Preserves quality service by following organizational standards; Maintains patient privacy by keeping all information found in patient files confidential; HIPAA compliant
