Job Description

Job Summary:
The Patient Access Representative - Pre-Registration is responsible for supporting an efficient and effective registration process by contacting patients prior to scheduled appointments to verify and update demographic, insurance, guarantor, and appointment information. This role assists with insurance eligibility verification, patient communication, and coordination of pre-registration activities to support patient access and continuity of care. The Patient Access Representative - Pre-Registration also supports front-end registration operations and provides excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with Hamilton Health Center policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.

Employee Assistance Program Essential Functions:
Guide patients through the pre-registration process Contact patients prior to appointments to verify and update demographic, insurance, guarantor, and appointment information Verify insurance eligibility and communicate applicable co-pay information to patients Review and update Primary Care Provider (PCP) information as needed Inform uninsured patients of required documentation needed for Hamilton Health Center's Sliding Fee Program Educate patients regarding required items for appointments, including insurance cards, photo identification, and medical records for new patient visits Transfer patients to appropriate departments for assistance with PCP changes when necessary Answer patient questions regarding registration processes and practice operations Assist with check-in/check-out coverage as needed Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and Hamilton Health Center policies Demonstrate professionalism and provide excellent customer service to patients and staff Support departmental productivity, quality, and operational goals Demonstrate Hamilton Health Center workplace values: Innovation, Integrity, Quality, Accountability, Respect, Commitment, and Inclusion Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Minimum Work Experience:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a customer service-related position required Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications preferred This job description is a general outline of duties performed and is not to be construed as encompassing all duties performed within the position.
