Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Patient Services Representative at Kirman Eye , where your compassionate and professional approach will make a meaningful difference in our patients' experience. In this essential front-office role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, helping ensure smooth daily operations through scheduling, insurance verification, administrative support, and exceptional customer service. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced optometry practice dedicated to outstanding patient care, teamwork, and professionalism. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify demographic and insurance information, and assist with check-in/check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Schedule appointments efficiently and coordinate follow-up visits, referrals, and procedures. Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations for medical and vision plans, including Medicare. Collect copayments and outstanding balances while following billing procedures and compliance guidelines. Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring timely updates and proper documentation within the EHR system. Answer multi-line phone systems professionally and assist with questions regarding appointments, services, and billing. Support new patient intake by collecting medical history forms and required documentation while maintaining confidentiality. Perform general front desk and clerical duties including filing, scanning, data entry, and supply management. Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow and timely service. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer service setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, billing processes, and coding (ICD-10/CPT) preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Bilingual skills are a plus. Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail. Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and comply with HIPAA regulations. Experience handling multi-line phone systems and administrative tasks preferred.
